The calculator at entitledto will tell you what benefits and tax credits you are entitled to:
http://www.entitledto.co.uk/
It depends on how many hours your partner works, your council tax bill, wether you rent and a few other things, but the calculator will work it all out for you and tell you how to claim.

Hi am in a similar situation, the best place to go is Jobcentre Plus they can sort it all out and tell you exactly what you need! If you want to find out for yourself an excellent website which is very informative is www.direct.gov.uk it is excellent it can help with everything like this, it also has links to government websites for benefits etc. You should find what your looking for here, good luck!

Tax credits, which will prob be about £80+ per week on your income. and child benefit which you'll get about £60 a month.
you can apply tax credits on line.
Did you get a sure start grant ?? you might be entitled to one to help you buy things for the baby.

as your family is on a low inhcome you'll get good child tax creits and working rax credits. you should also be claiming child benefit, which is approx £69 a month.

dont feel obliged to go to work. children do suffer when fobbed off on a stranger full time. i have a 19mth old and believe it's my job to raise him, not someone elses.

go to citizens advice

Mike Hunt (nice little play on words) YOU HAVE BEEN REPORTED!

As to the question, sometimes we have to work more than one job to survive. Perhaps that is something you should look into.
