Gay men do not hate women. We just don't get sexually aroused by them.
You can't tell if a guy is gay just by looking at appearance, moves etc. You are stereotyping by thinking of those who are flamboyantly effeminate.
Most gays are what you might call "straight acting" in that we don't act or dress any different than any other guy would because aside from our sexual preference we are no different from any other guy.
If you want to know if he is gay - ask him.

You cannot say for sure if a person's gay just by looking at him. It is true sometimes mannerisms are a giveaway, but that's never a guarantee. The best way to find out if someone is gay is to politely ask them.

The way you word this question raises a red flag. How can I "make sure" someone is "a" gay or not.
Give us some background on what you are trying to accomplish.
This is sounding dangerously ignorant.
On a lighter note, you could ask him to look at his fingernails. Gays always look at their nails with the back of their hands facing them and their fingers extended. Straight men look at them with the palm side up and the fingers curled down. Don't believe me? Try it!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Gays have become very good at blending in with everybody else. Like your son, your father, your mother, even you. Just because you see someone like Jack on TV doesn't mean we're all like that. Just like because I see someone like Coultergeist on TV, doesnt mean all straights are bitter, crusty old cracker ladies.

You can't. I was listening to a radio station once and they said...walk up to a guy and ask him if he knows Micheal, Melanie or Lindsay, or Hunter. (You know Queer as Folk) if he doesn't know..then say, Oh..I am sorry, I thought you knew them. then you know your answer.. :-)
