My work group wen to a go-cart racing place for a team builder and Martin would not participate. The only excuse he gave was that he gets sweaty in the race suits they make you wear.

Unless he has a better excuse than what he gave, was not a wise career decision on his part. It could demonstrate that he is not a "team player" and not as open to new ideas. To succeed in business, you have to do things that are uncomfortable (at least initially) and you have to be willing to a good team member, not just out for yourself.

So? this is really unimportant to a team-building experience. Maybe its his loss that he didn't participate, but then did everyone agree on what the activity would be? at least he went and hung out with everyone. I would go to something like that, but only hang out. Last activity I went to like that and I got badly bruised by the go-kart seat belts.

whats wrong with that i wouldn't go either the last thing i would want to do is hang out with people at work .i got a life .all they do is talk about you later like your doing now . if a person dont want to go thats there bussiness its no one bussiness why or why not he wants to go maybe he hates all the people from work .maybe he's not an *ss kisser

maybe he is afraid to loose? ive never been big on team building, and i sweat a lot but most ppl do at a go cart track...Good Luck...maybe he just needs a friend!
