You could probably check some of my answers and see that I do not agree with Mormon philosophy (I have seen many people hurt by their Church and have done lots of research), but honestly, Mormons are the best businesspeople and best politicians that we have in America.
They tend to have much higher integrity and are generally much more successful than any other religious group. True, much of this most definitely stems from the tight spiritual discipline that they learn through their religious experiences, but the LDS Church even teaches that Church and State are to be kept entirely separate.
Even though I am against the Mormon doctrines, I would be more likely to vote FOR a mormon due to his/her religion than I would be to vote AGAINST him/her for it.
Mitt Romney would make an excellent president, just like he has made an excellent CEO, governor, Olympics President, and investor. He is a smart, disciplined, good-hearted man with values.
EDIT: I love how David G says he is "Pro-Gun" immediately after "Pro-Life". I find that amusing. Honestly, were guns made to do anything but kill? I don't care if it's self-defense, hunting, or whatever, it's still killing. I'm not saying hunting or self-defense is bad, I'm just saying that if you're "Pro-Life", that should be "Anti-Death", and therefore "Anti-gun" because guns were invented and are manufactured for the express purpose of inflicting fatal wounds.

I would not vote against someone because of their religious beliefs. I do not care what a politicians religion is as long they have the same positions I do on the most important issues. I do not think that Romney's being a Mormon will really effect his campaign. There could be a few people who might vote against him because of the Mormon thing but I do not think it would be enough to sway the election. The more I learn about Mitt the more I seem to agree with his positions so I think I would vote for him depending on who he is up against. I am not really concerned with who I will vote for yet because I am an independent so I will not be voting until Nov 08.

I don't know all of the candidate's platforms yet. I think it's too soon to pick someone to vote for right now. The election is over a year and a half away. Religion should not reflect your voting, your voting should reflect your religion.

specific, i might vote for a Mormon candidate in the event that they have been the epitome of my ideals. i'm LDS/Mormon and that i does not merely vote for somebody merely because of fact they're LDS. I vote for whoever i think of will do what's nice for the persons they're representing. And in step with three different solutions, the LDS church does not help polygamy in any way shape or form and that i'm a woman and that i'm an equivalent companion in my marriage. i don't sense oppressed or perplexed and no-one, which incorporate myself, considers me slightly one production unit.

sadly enough, no matter how qualified a candidate too many people will only see the word "Mormon" and Mormons are not the most popular outside of Utah. They receieve alot of persecution from American Society as a whole. So yes religion, gender, race all of that still plays a huge take in rather you get elected. Go Obama

There have been enough Mormon politicians on both sides of the specrum (Harry Reid very Liberal, Orin Hatch very conservative for example) to show that their church is not pressuring them to vote either way.
I haven't made any final decisions on who I will vote for, but I do know that if I vote for Mit or not, it will have nothing to do with his religion.

I am voting for chief executive not chief theologian. I don't care his brand of religion as long as he has faith in God.
I am voting for Romney because he is the most like my political beliefs - small government, lower taxes, pro-life, pro-gun, etc.

when Mitt Romney was governor of Massachusetts, he took no salary to help with the budget deficit in this state! When our new black governor took over, he immeditely leased a new caddy limosine and to me that says character on Mitt's part. Yes, he is wealthy but so is Deval Patrick, the new gov! You decide!

Why should Romney's faith affect him any differently than other religions and the other candidates who belong to them?
