Take a class at Adult Ed that interests you. Try Calligraphy, yoga, flower arranging, guitar. You have to go where you will find people with your interests, they even have night classes at the local junior or community college, I have take Children's Lit, Holistic Health, etc.

That's a tough one. Even if you're married, it can be a difficult thing to find another woman to talk to - family takes up so much time that you get bits and pieces of companionship from friends. I really envy the women who insist on a weekly 'girls night out' and take it!

I agree with Michelle....take some classes of some sort. Join some group that holds a hobby you find interesting etc.
Get yourself out there and you're sure to meet alot of lovely people.

Do you work? If so you could try making friends with someone there. If not, there are chat rooms...I know that sucks...but at least someone is there to maybe listen.
You could check out your neighbors. Pick up a hobby like bowling...go to the Y...anything...anywhere to meet people.

your local "y" always have different clubs or groups to join also you could take a class then maybe you would meet someone.
