I went to sleep early last night and woke up at 7 a.m. So I got 8-9 hrs of sleep w/ out waking up in between. I'm drinking ice-cold water to try to stay awake but it is not working.

This may sound funny, but go pee and get some air - it used to work for me when I had to do 24 on and 24 off shifts.

Good to have a big breakfast every morning, well done, try going for a little walk or splash your face with cool water. Get one of those Berocca's and drop it into some cool water and drink it, it's vitamin B.

dont eat a really big meal. when your body gets a lot of food, it takes your body a lot of energy to digest it. I just ate a big lunch, and i know i shouldnt have, and now im extremly tired. put a lot of fluids into your system,(nothing with a lot of sugar or caffine) mostly water. then you should be good in a while
