Like everyone has already said Carter was stabbed by a schizophrenic patient. Those episode's just came on last week, and they were really good. Today's episode was the one where they all discover that he's becoming addicted. Maybe you should watch TNT tomorrow at 10/9 and 11/10.

Yeah, it was when they got stabbed. It was the saddest episode ever. The part where chuny goes over to doc magoos to tell the gang about Lucy...gets me everytime. The reason he became an addict wasn't just because of the accident. John was really affected by the death of Lucy--that and have the drugs available because of the accident were the reason.

they were having a halloween party, and he and lucy got stabbed by a patient with a 10 inch knife. lucy died, and he lived, but he developed some severe problems from it, one of them being the drug addiction.
i freakin bawled when lucy died. sad day

He got stabbed by some psychotic patient, the guy who killed Lucy. I'm pretty sure that's what it was anyway!

he was stabbed by a patient. lucy the intern died from the stab wounds and he almost died. he became addicted to pain killers, peter benson took him to a rehab center (i think it was in georgia) and he was able to recover.
