OK, im a teenager and its not the label that means so much, its the style and the price you can afford. You fell presured and out of place if you dont fit in with the"in crowd" but some people are couragous. Being myself i try to fit in. I shop Wall-Mart and Target. I saw the same thing i boaght in Target at Hollister the next weekend. And people really arnt that quick to make fun of you, they are quick to label. If you dress a certain way people judge you so you want to fit in. Fitting in isnt something you are quick to do and people do get hurt but thats only because they refuse to except change. THings change and if people will not then thats how they will be trated. Cloths are part of your overall image, witch is what peoples first impression of you is. when you look like you can associt through fashion, they approach you and you become more populiar. If you dont care and dont change then you are left behind to hang out with the other people who are like you and judged because you look different and outdated. Its like a guy in parachute pants with an afro walking into my highschool...he wouldnt hang out with the cheerleaders and jocks...only the nerds because nobody can relate to him. nobody can approach him because they are caught up in what other people are thinking about them.....teenage life is all about looking good, boyz, and fun....you do what you do because you want to fit in and not to mention the cloths are so cute! sry if i confuzed you even more, lol.

My Goddaughter is teased a lot about what she wears. Her mum doesn't have a lot of money and so her daughter is often in hand me downs. They are quite often still reasonably fashionable, she has just been given a bench coat which my 13 year old really, really wants.
However, because she is not wearing THE most fashionable clothes or designer labels, she is getting teased and picked on a school and on the way home. On a recent non school uniform day I was saw her go past and loads of kids were shouting abuse at her because of what she was wearing (the clothes were pretty fashionable and I had just seen a picture in a fashion mag with a similar outfit). Obviously I went out and stopped the abuse but I couldn't believe that 10 year olds were picking on someone because her clothes weren't designer.

It is nothing new matey the mods were doing it in the sixties. And most of their suits were hand made and were only in fashion for a week and just left in the wardrobe on a hanger never to be seen again the same went for shoes, shirts hair styles. All this off the peg mass produced rubbish has a much longer shelf life and it is a lot cheaper than having a mohair suit made every other week

The only people who get into fashion are sou less nobodies trying to be something. They don't have a fuking brain cell between them so they hide behind there armour of ridiculously expensive clothes made by children in Thailand. People who take the p iss out of people who don't wear the latest "cut" deserve a slap in the teeth.

No-our daughter isn't fussed as to wearing designer gear, and doesn't receive any negativity from her peers.
We recently bought her some Armani jeans that cost £140 pounds as a treat/reward-she wears them less than her £10 pair-and not because she doesn't like them, she's just not keen on wearing labels.
She's 16 now and wears tons of her mates & cousins hand-me-downs/overs,as do most of her friends-as annoying as it is to us when we are always buying her new stuff!!!They seem to prefer the worn/swapped look for some odd reason??? teenagers huh!

my whole family got bullied whilst growing up in school etc because we have never had the money to go and buy fasionable stuff not that i have ever wanted to be fasionable because i like to think for myself not follow what everyone else is wearing. although i didn't have bullying when i went to a strict school that didn't allow brand named stuff, but then i moved and went to a school that had a very slack uniform policy so girls would have short skirts high heels make up i felt i was walking into a broffel quite honestly.

bullying shouldn't happen but it does and i feel that fashion money etc does have a big influence.

being fashionable isnt about labels. me & my mates get loads of fashionable clothes from places like primark & new look for cheap prices & we sure dont get bullied, we get complimented. dont think following fashion is that important to be honest, i would say looking attractive is & you dont have to follow fashion to look attractive, you have to find what suits you. if you dont thats were problems can start.

it just makes people stereotypical, and hate each other because they look a certain way - mostly 'ned' has taken over and they all act the same way.

you'd be nonconforming too if you looked just like me basically.

Most teens still follow the trends like sheep... just as they used too... kids can be harsh and laugh at what you wear, so most people just follow so they won't be laughed at!
