my husband figured this out, their was this pan that we thought we were going to have to throw away because all the elbow grease in the world couldn't get the crud on the bottom off, well he put easy off on it and left it for 10 minutes and it wiped right off like butter! every once in awhile i have to do this and it makes things so easy, i clean it afterwards, so do you think its safe?

Easy Off has many uses. They use it to remove decals and stripes on boats down at the marina. I've cleaned carburetors and engine blocks with the stuff.

The pans that are dangerous would be any pan with a coating like Teflon or all aluminum pans.

The coated pans can be dangerous to your health if overheated or if they flake off into your food so you might not want to stress them with a chemical peel.

Aluminum in general is bad as it leaches into your food. There may be a chemical reaction with aluminum that wouldn't be very healthy to breath. Check for warnings about that on the can.

It should be safe on stainless, glass or cast iron as long as you remove ALL of the residue. Be sure to use this stuff outdoors or in the garage and far away from kids and pets. It gives off some nasty fumes.

Since you are washing it afterwards, yes. But another thing you can do to help with the crud in the bottom is heat the pan, then put in a couple of drops of dish detergent and a bunch of water. I've found that's great for getting out cooked-on grease!
