I am not a virgin, and whenever I wear a tampon it really hurts, especially when I sit down. It feels like there is pressure building up and it is poking up. I feel as if I have a lower cervical area. Should I just not wear a tampon?

Yes I agree with the other people....

You are definitely not inserting it all the way in.

You really have to stick it up all the way although you might feel weird about it but that's the only way you wont be able to feel it....and make sure you have the string sticking out...very important!! You wouldnt want to get it stuck hehe

The first time its supposed to hurt but if it hurts again and again thats different.....
It might just be that its not in the the right way. Or it could be that the brand your using doesn't work for you . (That happened to me) If thats the case then I would try to get another brand use it a couple of times and see if that one works better.I'd do it with at least 3 different brands before deciding. But most likely I would see a doctor just incase it's a serious problem. As for not wearing one I'd do that unless you really needed one. Hope I could help. Good Luck.

Some woman have a difficult time wearing tampons, I did until I started using Kotex brand tampons and I have been using them for 17 yrs. Make sure you fit the size of tampon to your flow. Such as Light Flow - Regular tampon so on and so forth.

If changing brands doesn't help you may consider going back to pads.

Tampons fit into most women's vaginas, but sometimes girls who are first beginning to use them have trouble inserting them. It's easier to insert a tampon when you are relaxed. It's also helpful to remember that the vagina doesn't go straight up into the body — usually it angles toward the small of the back. So, when a girl inserts a tampon, it's best for her to relax her vaginal muscles and angle the tampon a little bit toward the small of her back to make insertion easier.

I have never been able to wear a tampon comfortably. The string causes much discomfort and it feels like my body is trying to reject it. I used to experience the same symptoms you are talking about (and they were being inserted correctly). I have switched to INSTEAD and love it. I can even have intercourse during my period without any mess!! check out this link........... http://softcup.com/ I've been using these for years and have never had a problem.

When inserted properly, you should not be able to tell its there. Read the directions again, maybe you are not inserting it the right way.

1. it may not be in right, it needs to be way above your pubic bone. push it up with your finger
2. try another brand, some fit better than others.
