That's about the story, I would also recommend starting a very hot steamy shower and turning the bathroom into a sauna, take the baby in there for 10-15 minutes, it really helps.
If the baby isn't better in a week take him to his pediatrician.

It does have to r un it's course. Be very thankful you cought it in time, it could have turned into RSV. Which is deadly in some children. Our now 15 year old had RSV. A lot of sleepless nights, let me tell you. The vaporizor or a hot steamed up bathroom work great. Raise the head of his bed up some, so he is not laying flat, that helps him sleep. Our daughter only slept on daddys chest when she was so sick.
Keep a watch out for more wheezing. If he looks like he is having trouble breathing take him back to the hospital.
Good Luck and God's speed in recovery.

My baby girl had bronchiolitis last month. A nebulizer was delivered to our house (paid for by insurance) and we administered a breathing treatment with albuterol three times a day. We could even do it while she was asleep.
We did this for about two weeks, and then she was better. The doctor said that babies that get bronchiolitis have more of a chance of getting asthma when they are older.

Unfortunately it does have to run it's course. It's painful to see your child feeling so badly, but they do get better. I would suggest a flu shot from here on out to. The chance of bronchitis gets stronger each year. My son had bronchiolitis when he was a baby and now if we don't get the flu shot, he gets bronchitis about 3 times a year. The baby will be fine I promise. Mom to 3.

I recently went through that with my 11 month old, I had to take him to the hospital too. They gave him a breathing treatment with albuterol. My doctor gave me a breathing machine to use for him and what do you know the wheezing stopped and I haven't had to use it seen then. I would contact my doctor and get the albuterol that goes in the machine instead of the syrup.

Our youngest had bronchitis when she was 5 weeks old (very scary) and twice again before she was 6 months. The vaporizer helped a lot. She was born in fall, so we made sure we kept her in as much as possible and away from others when we could. It did run its course, but it was frightening at the time. She's 2 1/2 now and just fine. Hasn't had any problems since.

They are right.
My niece had this and my sister and her husband and I all went to the hospital.
They gave her a breathing treatment (my brother in law had to hold the baby to keep her from removing the mask) and a take home nebulizer.
Do what they say, it will run its course.
Just as a note, though, I think it is caused by cigarette smoke. My sister and her husband do not smoke, nor do I. But we were all visiting another relative who smokes and smoke was in the car, the house, etc.
Also, she went out in the cold air when we were visiting this relative.
So be careful.
