i would. I would never give a breastfed baby fake milk if I could avoid it. Especially in an emergency! That could make them really sick. Human milk is far easier to digest, and in a time of crisis that baby would need the comfort.
i have nursed a couple of friend's children. A couple of friends have nursed mine.

I haven't, and probably wouldn't. Do I think it is wrong? No... In fact, women used to do this all thie time. That is what a "wet nurse" is. My husbands grandmother said her mom and her aunt used to breastfeed each other's baby while the other was working. I think it used to be very common. Nowadays, though, women can pump their own milk, or use formula. Believe it or not, though, women even donate breastmilk, and it is given to premature babies. There is nothing wrong with it, as long as the woman doesn't have any diseases that can be passed on....

I have a friend who was nursing her own baby at the time, and since she had more than enough milk, she pumped extra for her sister's baby when her sister got sick and had to go into the hospital.
I don't know anybody who would actually *breastfeed* another person's baby, rather than pump, though.

I've never had to, but probably would. What's the difference if its from mom or from another human? Its no more weird than giving children cow's milk...which is an entirely different species. Remember that there's nothing sexual or "wrong" about breastfeeding.

i did... but here as part of tradition, if your baby is a boy you can only breastfeed the baby girl.......... but lately, it is the milk and not the sex of the baby who is the most concern....breastmilk is best for baby no matter what sex..for emergency purpose here, if mother is away, and the baby is crying for milk, we used to ask neighbor who breastfeed too her baby....

No. I would feel pretty weird about that. And I DEFINITELY wouldn't have ever wanted anyone else breastfeeding my son!! I just kept a "back up" supply of breast milk in our freezer in case my son ever got hungry while he was home with my husband. If it was a true emergency and I didn't have any frozen breast milk for him in the freezer...then formula!!

I haven't had to do that, but I would definitely b/feed my sister's baby if she needed me to. But definitely not a friend's baby...too familiar and weird when formula is around.

the mother can express her breast milk and keep some in the freezer or fridge. rich women used to (maybe still do?) have wet nurses to breastfeed their babies for them.
