it's not up to your father what this baby's name is. that is between YOU and your child's father...PERIOD.

I think in order for this baby to be James the fouth the whole name must be identical to the fathers...James Walker Anderson IV...(the fourth)
I do think james joseph sounds ok if that's what you want to do, I also like the suggestion some one gave for the nickname JJ
Good Luck

Well, if you really want to make your father and the father of the child happy you could go ahead and go with james Joseph and call him JJ. Or you could go with Joseph Walker since that would using both of their names.

I think James Joseph sounds fine. But you could also go with two middle names so that you can add a name that you want your son to have.

WWhat about calling your baby James Joseph only on birth certificate and you always called him JJ? That is quite a cool name and it means both your father and the father get their names included.
Alternatively you could name the baby anything you want! It is your baby and you should name it anything you want. If your father complains then say that you thought it would be disrespectful to name it just after your father and not the father's father. You could still keep the father's name if you want and call the child James.
Hope this helps! xxx

You are right james and joseph do not go together If it is a debate don't name him either name just give him a name that starts with the letter j and move on

Yes, it would effect the traditional legacy of James Walker, and it's his child more than your dad's so name him after the daddy.

just so you know, the choice belongs to you and your husband. Don't be a people pleaser. Go with what you guys like. If your father has qualms with it, he'll get over it. Trust me that little boy will mean more to him than the name he gets.
