You know the myth how we only use about 10% of our brain? (I know it's not true but I like the idea of it.) What if an alien life force did create us, but feared that we would turn on them so they put a fail safe on brain so we could on use 10% of our brain and dumped us on this back water planet called Earth but now in the future mankind has found a way past the fail safe and now we want to figure out who put the fail safe there to begin with? It's just an outline but yeah I kinda like the plot so can you tell me what you think?

Yes, it could work as a book or as a short story. I think the key would be in how you worked in characters and how they perhaps had conflicting motives or goals. Setting is everything and it'd better be descriptive. Don't let action overwhelm what people and aliens are thinking.

I have to admit, I cannot endorse an idea that is deliberately untrue. Knowing full well that we do not use 10% of our brain, why on Earth would you choose to promulgate the idea in any way?

Instead, do some research on what might actually limit our brain's ability. What are the neurological puzzles that science is currently struggling with? (Why, for instance, does religion play such a dominant and necessary role for so many humans?) And intertwine these with the science fiction you clearly enjoy!

Good luck.

I think its an interesting concept, i would just make sure to not make it sound like Independence day or any other alien movie or book...ya know? But its a good idea--go with it

It could be interesting - depending on how you work it. Otherwise it's going to come out sounding like an old Star Trek episode. Good luck. Pax - C.

Yeah, it sounds good, but not really my reading material. It has potential to turn out good though.
