It might be because you have either been abused or have been around it. It may also be a gift. You may be perceptive too.

You probably have a very tuned sense of intuition (nothing psychic or weird) and are unconsciously able to spot the signs of an abusive personality. Sometimes it doesn't take intuitive people to see it, because it can be quite obvious sometimes. But you can probably make out much more subtle signs that abusive people display without realizing they do. Some people can! I'm sure it can help you out in the future, too.
