What is the difference between engineering and applied physics? Is engineering better than applied physics?

depends on what you want to do.

Generally, I think it's easier to get a job if you have an BS degree in engineering degree vs a BS degree in physics.

PhD's are a different story.

Engineering specializes in a specific area. Applied physics gets a spattering of everything. Unless you want to go all the way to a PhD, I'd recommend engineering. Given the choice, an electronics company will take an engineer over applied physics an day.
