(1) Mandatory death penalty for cop-killers and Fed-killers, (2) Death penalty as a required option in all cases where an accused is convicted of murder, (3) Castration -- not chemical, the whole enchilada -- for men convicted of rape, (4) More prisons modeled on the "boot camp" model that was successfully used in Michigan before the current idiot of a governor took office, and (5) Making prison time the hardest time a person can do -- no more of this rehabilitation crap, which has been proven time and time again not to work; send people to prison to be PUNISHED.
The problem with the corrections system in this country is that it's much to lax. People are getting slaps on the wrist for serious crimes and many criminals don't care about getting back into prison because in prison they have cable TV, weight rooms, access to the Internet, a place to sleep with a roof over your head, and three square meals a day that are better than the food our troops are eating in Iraq and Afghanistan -- no, I'm NOT making that up; the prison systems in North Carolina and Florida turned away excess MREs (meals ready to eat) that are a staple of our military menu because "that food isn't nutritious enough for our prisoners." WHAT?!?!!
It's a proven fact: The best defense against crime is DETERRANCE. If people know they're going to get a lethal injection or several years living in Hell on Earth for their crimes, they're going to be a lot less likely to commit them.

If there is no doubt of guilt, execute murderers and big time drug dealer/traffickers along with traitors (citizens who work with foreign governments or terrorists against ours). Make parents responsible for their children's actions until 21. Allow teenagers to get their diploma or GED or BOCES/trade school degree up to the age of 21 if need be, to make sure they leave the educational system with something that will help them get a job. Make juvenile delinquents WORK, if they vandalize something in a school, introduce them to the joy of scrubbing toilets for the due amount of hours until damages paid, that way they will coinsider the value of an education better. the idea of the justice system should never be about "vengeance", it should be a deterrent to wrong doing, and in extreme cases, a insurance that killers never roam loose to kill again because they were paroled, lightly sentenced or escaped, or just continue their activities behind bars. I'd allow proven law abiding citizens to carry concealed weapons with the understanding they are liable for every bullet fired from their weapon, or crime that might be committed with it should it end up in another's possession.

Easy. I could cut a majority of it by being tough on immegration and shutting down the border completely. Right there there are less violent criminals, poor people (who have kids who become violent criminals) and drug trafficking. Now that all 3 are cut by 50% over 30 years I would then legalize marijuana and begin taxing it,a dn use that money to fund the border initiative. The rest will fall into place, there will always be some criminals however.

I would eliminate the DEA, and if not repeal all the laws criminalizing non-violent behavior, I would order their enforcement suspended, and pardon anyone previously convicted of such crimes.
This would free up a lot of jail space and police time to go after people that actually hurt other people by killing, assaulting, robbing, or defrauding them.

Ban any law that does forbids law-abiding citizens from carrying concealed weapons.
Mandatory 'three strikes' laws in all states.
Streamline the death penalty process.
Pass laws forbidding any professional license to anybody convicted of drug possession in the past 5 years.
Make drug- testing mandatory for any form of public assistance.
Drug testing for any form of federal student aid.
Require that all educators (including college professors) pass random drug screening or lose their jobs.
Cutting down on the demand for drugs will solve a lot of the drug problem.

I would repeal all federal and state gun legislation. Like the constitution says. It would put guns back in the hands of citizens (note guns will ALWAYS be in the hands of criminals... ALWAYS).
Then double the penalties on crimes committed WITH guns. Maybe triple.
When a crook thinks you might have a gun... he will not rob you.
When a crook KNOWS you do NOT have a gun. You are a rabbit waiting for the fox.

I would legalize drugs, gambling and prostitution. Once those trades are legalized it allows them to be properly regulated and eliminates all of the crime associated with the black market.

Easy: I would remove most laws governing personal choice. Less illegal activities = less crime.

Enforce the already existing laws, broaden the death penalty, and limit the appeals one can have.
