I know this is very subjective, but my husband and I have a little debate about it. He says in terms of longevity and actual talent, Aerosmith. I think Foo Fighters, but then again...Any rock fans out there want to weigh in?

Without a doubt, the Deftones. More musicians say their favorite band is the Deftones than any other band. And they kick azz to. Chino rocks!

Aerosmith is too played out, and yeah Foo Fighters are good, I love Dave Grohl, but the best rock band right now would have to be either Godsmack or Korn. It was Metallica, but they just haven't been the same since And Justice For All. Godsmack and Korn's guitar riffs are unbeatable and the drummer for Godsmack is insane, he rivals Grohl in best drummer at present time. And for the guy who said Audioslave, I hate to break it to you but they split up and Rage Against The Machine is getting back together.

KISS is the most successful American rock band in history as far as sales records. But the Foo fighters rock. Maybe they can break the records.

If you mean any NEW bands there aren't any. There hasn't been a good band since Nirvana. Some of the older bands that are still around have lost their way. They have to much money and no longer in touch with their fans. Most of the bands on the air today are all one hit wonders.

Well different people ave different opinions lol.
But between Aerosmith and Foo Fighters, it would definitely be Foo Fighters.
Aerosmith are a great band with good media image,
(but can also create good music, althought they havent showed that to us in time) but on the musical side Foo Fighters are pretty good.
Personally i think Guns n Roses are the greatest American Band ever, they have got great musical talent,great attitude and great lyrics.
Modern Day Bands that i consider good are- Green Day, Sum 41 and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

For the present time, my favorite band is The Killers, but in terms of popularity and recognition etc. my bet is probably the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
