The real reason that we can't have the Ten
Commandments in a Courthouse! You cannot post "Thou
Shalt Not Steal," "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,"
and "Thou Shall Not Lie" in a building full of
lawyers, judges and politicians! It creates a hostile
work environment! And every one knows the ACLU won't allow that.

No, the real reason is that all those men don't want to be reminded that they're not supposed to spend the Sabbath watching sports.

Also, that they're not supposed to cuss, or look at pictures (such as pictures of naked women).

How many people who rant about the 10 Commandments know what they are?

Hardly any, I bet, and very, very few abide by them.

Oh, they remember the don't steal, don't kill, but forget all those others -- like keeping the Sabbath holy.

So the question becomes, why can some people force those silly rules down everyone's throat?

Especially when they don't believe them themselves.

There was a great interview on the Colbert Report, where he asked a "Plaster the Country with the 10 Commandments" idiot (Congressman) to name them.

Guess how many he could name?

3.

Not even HALF of them.

Yet, there he was, blathering on and on about how important they are, how they should be on the walls of courts, classrooms, everyone's house, every bathroom stall -- well, I exaggerate.

Why should I be "reminded" everywhere I go I'm supposed to spend one whole day a week being all googly-eyed over an imaginary being?

It's unconstitutional and it's just plain WRONG.

Because we are a land of religious freedom and if the Judeo Christian Ten commandments are allow to stay up in courthouses then the other religions have just as much right to post their manifestos as the Christians and Jews.

There must be a clear division of church and state or we can end up like the Muslim countries with religious nut cases ruining the government.

I once taped a small newspaper clipping of the 10 commandments in my courtroom, in public view. It stayed there for about 6 months. Ha! Take that, ACLU

did you ever think of the damage that would do the the legal profession? If people obeyed those ten simple rules lawyers and the ACLU would be out of business. With the Addition of one more The UN would be History. "Love Thy Neighbor."

Sorry Chico but the real real reason is that the Republican Judges do not want the rest of the society to know what True Law and Justice is!

Do you realize that "The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse!" Is NOT a sentence because it's not a complete thought? The rest of your rant doesn't make a whole lot of sense, either.

Cute.

What's sad is that the ethical requirements for attorneys and judges also prohibit lying, cheating, and theft. But too many individuals have broken those rules, which gives the entire profession a bad name.

Ask the A.C.L.U, they do not think we should speak of Christmas or Easter for the same silly reason. This organization is a great menace just like any other Liberal group. Why do we listen to them?
