there is always an exception but normally the autobiography. Too many biographers have an agenda when they begin their work, the autobiographer should know that if he starts telling tales the entire work will be ignored or branded fantasy. If the goal is to tell the truth or offer perspective the autobiography is well received by me. ♥ great question ♥

Great question! At first I thought biography, but now I'm thinking an autobiography would be much more accurate. A person writing about themselves is much more inclined to make themselves look good, make excuses for their actions, and just plain leave those actions out of the book. An autobiographer would tell the story the best to his knowledge and feel free to include all the juicy details.

hmm... I randomly clicked on this question now... lol
it's late and my mind is blank but what comes spontaneously to my mind because they were the latest I've read are the autobiographies by Dave Pelzer, Frank McCourt... and another whose name I can't remember... *thinking hard*.... I just remember the title "Michelle remembers" ... If my memory serves me well all 3 books were written by the authors themselves and I find that they were able to put their soul, heart and personal feelings into their stories..... so I'd say autobiography.
Biographies can sometimes be falsely interpreted I think depending on the person writing it... if he she is biased or not for instance...
(hmm... am I confusing autobiography and biography? autobiography, biography, memoirs... confusing...lol... )

Told by another person...like a family member or a close friend. Autobiographies tend to be exaggerated a little, and the truth in some events are always biased.

Autobiography... I find more value in an individuals perception of themselves. It is more revealing than a story being synthesized through another's understanding, and then my own. There exists the possibility of lies from anyone, at any point along the story telling chain. In the end, my take is the one I have to live with.

Biography because people always have a different view of themselves what do I enjoy more? That has to be Autobiography because then you get what they were feeling during the events that took place

I think I would most trust the auto-biography. It is still concocted by that person. If you have an understanding of that person is should be easier to unravel the threads of exaggeration or enhancement.
