Were only talking 1 deg.

Is that enough for Business & Government to make everyone in America to buy $15 light bulbs.

Will the New Gov. Lightbulb police storm your house looking for incandesant bulbs.

You probably are too ignorant to do real research or you would know that a change in overall basic temperatures of oceans etc. can make a big huge difference in when storms happen, where they happen, how big they are etc.

It seems many Republicans in Congress support the idea now but there will be those who know nothing but don't like it because Al Gore is talking about the subject and because they hate Gore they are automatically opposed to what he says.

I will use incandescent light bulbs in some applications. I have a chandelier that would really look stupid with the fluorescent curly bulbs. I also have two rooms on dimmers. Dimmers do not work with fluorescent lights. The rest of the house I suppose I can use the new bulbs. I think other people are in the same boat. We won't eliminate incandescent bulbs in many years. That is unless they can be made to look like a candle flame for chandeliers or can be made to work with dimmers.

I recently read that scientists are now saying they were wrong: It won't take 10 degrees to upset life on Earth, it will only take 5.

That's to do horrific, irreversible damage. We need to do a LOT before that happens to not cause merely Really Bad irreversable damage.

Your top-level question is, of course, absurd -- people don't detect a 1 degree change, even five minutes later, and aren't good judges of temperature at all (we're good at "this is warmer than that" but only when we go from one to another, and the differences are bigger than 1 degree).

But how is your question relevant?

[here I am, talking reason to someone who refuses to engage in reason -- silly me]

They won't need to have light bulb police. Just make it illegal to sell them. Then what? Are you going to drive to Mexico, spend a thousand dollars to buy a light bulb and smuggle it back in to the US? one degree warmer doesn't make a big difference to anyone. But, if the polar ice caps melt by one percent, and the water levels of the oceans rise by one foot, think of all the beaches, that you now go to, that won't be there. They'll be under water. Think of Louisiana, which is already below sea level. Think of long Island in New York... just think of all of those places, and what a different world we'd be in.

Rough guess....no 100 year old people going outside saying it's 1 degree warmer, etc. Light bulbs? You've lost me there. Don't see what it has to do with the first part of your question

Wonder how many didn't make 100 due to a heat stroke they suffered in the past 5 years
Or how many have been diagnosed with or died from
Melanoma cancer due to the ozone depletion

Course that doesn't matter to you
because
The republican Hate troopers have clouded your judgement

ignorance is bliss . . . or so they say . . . they may not notice a degree or two, but ask any of them, all of them, if they have ever seen their rivers and streams so low and dried up. i'm in montana and my 90 year old Grams comments on it all the time . . .and yes she bought the bulbs, recycles, and for what a bunch of young ingorant punks who don't want to do their part . . . YOUR WELCOME!

That's only the tip of the (melting) iceberg. Wait until there's legislation to heavily tax our energy consumption. All the more reason to get these global warming fanatics out of politics. It's a sick, twisted cult-religion.

In most of mankind's history, man thought...

the earth was flat
the earth was the center of the universe
all living things were visible with the naked eye
man could not fly...

Science, use it, know it, and learn new things!

That's a good question.

Also, just 30 years ago back in the 70's, "they" (we all know who we're talking about here) were all convinced we were headed into an ice age.......
