As you play on a drum set the bass drum will slid forward away from you taking your toms with it out of reach(Crawling). How do you stop this?

Carpets move....rugs move....and yes cinder blocks will move too....but not as far....and they'll scratch the front of the bass.

I use a flat rug with a rubber backing. You 've seen them in plenty of places, they ususally put them on top of carpets to keep them from wearing down in high traffic areas. You can find them at any Home Depot or Office Max/Staples. They'll run you around 20 bucks for a 4x6 size. AND....they're durable(had mine for over 20 years), they fold up easy, so they don't take up a lot of space in your car

I've used this mat for over a few hundred gigs....and it MIGHT have moved four inches ONCE

Spikey stands (legs) into carpet and maybe weighing it down with something heavy in the bass drum (make sure it doesn't touch the head(s)).

Well, if you dont have a rug or carpet under your set it will "crawl", if you do have a rug or carpet, make sure the bottoms of your grips have the needles sticking out of them so it will grip the carpet. And if all else fails, you can put velcro on the bottom of your bass pedals.

Put a cinder block in front of the bass drum.
