stop, sit down(if you can find a place) and start at the beginning. take a few days off work if thats possible. clean your flat from scratch, polish, hoover, bathroom etc. everything. stop thinking about the stuff messing up your life, stay at home for a while(preferably keeping your flat clean, that will help keep your mind off your problems and help you feel safe in your own home). then invite some friends over. talk, have fun and RELAX. you just need to take things slowly and take a deap breath. dont concentrateon the bad stuff in your life. put on some music and get started repairing your life xx

Hey dude, know where your coming from been there myself! Heres my advice for you. Run yourself a deep hot bath, stick in some smellies of some sort, stick on some relaxing tunes and light a few candles. Sounds a bit girly but trust me it really chills you out!
Then once you've had your bath clear a space and write a list. It doesn't have to be in any order but everything you want to achieve. Look at your flat, you, your life job whatever it might be. Once you've done that put it in an order from most important or achievable and then work down! If you can't do one of them for whatever reason move to the next and come back to it when your ready.
I would suggest cleaning your flat as the first point of call, start on the bathroom and work round, the bathroom normally has the least stuff in so you'll feel better once it's done giving you the motivation to carry on (if it has 2 floors start upstairs and work down). Chuck out all the old crap you don't need (be ruthless).once you've finished you will feel better in yourelf and be able to start tackling larger problems.
It really works all i can say it don't try and do too much at once or you will go crazy and never really achieve anything. If you have a clean home you will have a clear mind to tackle the rest, goodluck i hope this helps!

You've had some good sound advice here already, especially from the ladies. I just wanted to add to their words of wisdom by saying, take it all just one step at a time. The flat is your godsend. Your life will start to clear up as you get the jobs done around your place. You'll feel better. The saying goes, There is nothing better to look back over a job well done, or a hard days work. This is very true, but has to be experienced to be believed! Wish I could help you, I love a challenge. I've got plenty of mops and buckets!

I can imagine that the last thing you feel like doing is cleaning your flat! If you have any spare cash get a cleaning company to do it on a once off so you can start afresh and start sorting your life out a bit. That will make you feel so much better already. I think you also pehaps need to see your GP as it sounds as though you could be depressed. We all go through it at some point in our lives and it is fairly easy to treat with the right tablets/therapy. It is absolutely nothing to be afraid or ashamed of and you'll be feeling better sooner than you know it. Good Luck!

I know how you feel. It can get to the stage where it is too overwhelming to start. Get a bin liner, and find things you can throw out. Get a box or carrier bag, and put all paperwork in it. Find things to take to a charity shop if they can be used by someone else. Clean one room at a time. When you have a few moments, sort the paper work out by getting folders for bills, instructions for utilities and gadgets, etc. find a cupboard or drawer or large box to keep them in.
You can either get up early and spend all day, or do it in stages, for instance if there is nothing on TV. It's amazing what you can do in an hour or so.
Once you have order, you will feel a lot better. Then relax and drink wine. And make sure you always wake up to a clean and tidy kitchen!

Calm down and relax.....this weekend make no plans...take the day to clean up your flat and then got o the store and buy a nice bottle of wine..or whatever alcohol you like...lol i like tequila...lol but thats beside the point. Then go back home and put on some comfy clothes...pop a squat on the couch..turn the phone off and pour you a drink. Watch a movie just let yourself fall asleep and dont worry about anything else for the entire night. If your a woman I would suggest a long bath...candles and lots of lotion!

Firstly tidy up your flat, do it one room at a time. Then look at what parts of your life are a mess and start sorting them out taking one step at a time. If you need help then ask who ever you need to ask to help you, if they care about you then they will not mind. If you are messing up as you put it try what you have messed up again, pick your self up and try and try again honey, we all mess up no one is perfect i can assure you. From my own experience with not feeling in control and messing up to keep my house tidy does make me feel in control a bit more. If you have a tidy environment then it really does make one feel a bit better. Get your self together slowly and positively and you will start to feel a bit more in control. Honestly it does work. If you feel seeing your doctor might help then see them too they might recommend a councillor for a while. Good luck my friend.

I know that if you let things get way out of control then you find that your life can seem out of control. It will seem to "over whelming"and you don't know where to start.Just start somewhere, it doesn't matter where.(maybe the room you spend the most time in,then go from there. I know once you get it done, you 'll automatically feel better. Then, mantain it. Don't ever let it get like that again. When you do clean it all up, reward yourself for a job well done.Put on some music and start cleaning. Good luck. Let us know how you're feeling after your flat is clean. OK?

As far as your flat goes, pick the smallest room and start there. It will be easier if you go room by room. I don't know how your life is a mess since you didn't say, but after you tackle a room in your flat, go down to your local and chat with some people. That might help you feel better.

Just take things and tackle things one step at a time... there is always tomorrow. What you don't sort out today can always be sorted out on another... write things down and tick them off when they're done... there is ALWAYS light at the end of the tunnel. Try sitting down and reading the book "Manage Your Mind" by Butler and Hope - a great read with tips on how to cope with day to day life. :D
