What, in your opinion, is the best source of removing stains and pet odor from carpets?

Use Spot Shot. It is a carpet cleaner. It works great on all carpets and clothes. I have used it for years on all of our pet stains. It eliminates the stain and all residual odor.

The key to get the odor out is to soak up as much of the urine with a clean towel first (standing on the towel works great) and then clean the spot with Spot Shot.

It works better than anything that I have bought - even from pet stores. I refuse to use anything else. I have used it on everything from pet stains to vomit, blood, and automotive grease!

For stains it depends on what the stain is and what color of clothing it is on. If the stain is on white clothing u can bleach it by placing bleach directly on the stain rubbing it around and then immediately throwing it in the wash. If its a grease stain from oil, butter or something like that using dish washing liquid that u use to wash ur dishes will get that out. They use it to remove the grease from dishes so it works the same way on clothing, then throw it in the wash immediately. If its an ink stain, the quicker u spray it with hairspray the better, but it holds the ink in place and then when u wash it on cold the stain will come out. Never dry anything in the dryer that has a stain on it because it will set the stain and u wont be able to get it out after that. As for pet stains, well soap and water or pet stain remover may work. But i have heard that getting the smell out is a little harder and using straight vodka on that gets the smell out. I havnt personally tried the vodka remedy but the others have worked for me. Good luck!!

Oxi-clean for all the stains, it gets almost everything out. Then rent a rug doctor for $20 a day from a supermarket, or buy a steam cleaner to have on hand. (Great when you have pets or kids.) Then steam clean after getting all the tough stains out with oxi-clean. Your rug will look a million times better, and smell better as well.

I spray a little resolve on mine, I let that sit for a minute, and then I go over it with my steamer. Works every time.
