If that blond teacher did that heinous act to me while I was just a tender teen and my aunt would have turned her in, I would have had to shoot my aunt...

Kinda a difficult area. A teacher is put in a position of trust and sleeping with a student, even with consent is breaching that trust. I don't personally think it should be a rape charge in some circumstances but it's got to be something serious to reflect the fact that she's slept with a student in her care. I guess the law does take it for granted sometimes that students can be quite mature in some instances and do hit on teachers, but if that's the case then the teacher should have taken steps to avoid anything further and not let it get to the point where they can get charged with rape and lose their job.

Yes. If it was a male teacher with a female student, he would be hung without a trail. I don't believe there is or should be any differences and consensual shouldn't play a part in it. Most people says female should be equal to the male so this should be a charge of rape the same a a male.

The double standard needs to stop. If it is wrong for a male teacher to have sex with a female student then it is wrong for a female teacher to have sex with a male student. It seems like the court with the Ohio women gave the female teacher no time but if it was a man he would have been doing years and years. Hey maybe the female student finds the teacher hot like the male student found his female teacher hot, it still doesn't make it right.

Under the law a minor can not consent. Therefore no sex act with a minor can be consensual. Therefore it is a crime, the teacher male or female, should be charged and convicted, barred from any future contact with children and another thing I don't think I'll mention. OK, it involves a dull knife or a needle and thread depending on the sex of the person convicted.

No, I don't think a female teacher should be charged. She should be fired for breaking the rules of her employment, but that's about it. There is a double standard for a reason! I STILL brag about a romantic encounter I had with a co-worker when I was 16....she was more than twice my age. I promise: She felt more used than I did.

Yes, Paul..it would be considered raped and the offender should be brought to justice.
When we went to school the biggest offense was chewing gum in class, whispering, running in the hall, dress codes..we could not wear blue jeans.., hair on boys ..not long,, girls ..not too long..(unless hey had a religious reason)
now its teachers having sex with the students? well, i was born to soon...but be that as it may...they will be charged and brought to justice... but the loss of their jobs, teaching credentials, and being held to public ridicule would be enough punishment...jail time seems a little harsh if it was consensual...but what do I know as i am still in a fantasy over Miss Crab tree

with the law the way it is right now it is considered statutory rape. the teacher is in a position of power over the student and that is why most the most common fantasy for students is to sleep with the teacher. this is not right though. since she is in a position of power over the student it is seen as she is taking advantage of a vulnerable student. so i don't think this law will change anytime soon and if people try to i think that parents will be up in arms about it.

I think female teachers should be treated the same as male teachers. If they abuse the power and trust given to them by seducing or responding to with a student, they should be done for rape.

Sex with a minor is the same under the law, regardless if it's a male teacher or a female teacher. They student may "want" it, being the average male teenager, but under the law, they aren't old enough to make that determination on their own.
