The angles for throwing to 1ST base is true as others have answered, but also when turning a double play being right handed is very important. Not to mention that a right handed SS is much better at tagging a baserunner when attempting to steal 2nd base. Those are the main reasons. Not just being squared up to throw to first base. Hope this helps.

right handers are preffered everywhere in the infield except first because leftys have to turn all the way around before they can make the throw

Because of the angle the ball nees to be thrown to first base.
If a lefty played shortstop or third base they would have to turn their body to make the correct throw. They cant get the ball to first base as quick as a righty can.

Because righthanders have an easier time with a throw to first or second base, the ones made most by a shortstop.

there has been one lefty shortstop in the major leagues and he averaged almost an error a day so they stopped playing him. The totla errors was 42 in about 60 games, thats terrible

It's a well known fact that lefties are a product of the devil and major league teams and players are all very superstitious. Exceptions are made at first base due to their natural hitting abilities and for pitchers due to their rarity.
