My friend lives in chicago and I just moved to Canada and we both want to get motivated to work out. We thought it would be easy if we lived close together, but now we are looking for a way to get motivate each other. Does anyone have any suggestions? We were thinking of having a contest and the other person wins something, but neither of us think that will work. Does anyone know of any online websites where we can talk back and forth about weight loss or does anyone have any ideas of how two people can motivate each other when they live in two different cities? I would appreciate any help on this! thanks.

Set up a web cam, this will allow you to see each other, only from the neck down and communicate about your progress, and it can be accessed at any time, should one you need to be push in the right direction.
You should each pick a half way point between Canada and Chicago, then pick one out of the two, from a hat,the loser pays for the cost of the two trips, hers and yours. When you reach winning destination you will be able to see each other for the first time,in person and see just how much progress you have made. The game must go for three months,if you start now you will be able to do something for the 4th of July.Make it for at least a 2 day or a weekend stay if financially able to do so.Good Luck & Have Fun!!!!!

Take pictures of each other in bathing suits. Then set a time limit - 6 months, a year. Then take new pictures. Whoever looks the best as compared to the "before" picture wins.

You can take also take pictures during the time frame to show your progress. If that won't motivate the two of you nothing will.

Check out MySpace ,or Yahoo 360 . One of these can link you up. As far as motivation, don't make it a prize, make it a punishment(if prizes don't do it for you). You have to volunteer to do something you hate ,etc. Best of luck to both of you!
