It's about two young brothers growing up in Chicago during the depression. I read the book when I was in high school, and don't recall the either the author or title. I thought the title had "wind blows" in it. In the book the brothers leave home, and roam about the country for sometime living homeless and picking up odd jobs, like joining a carnival. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

"No Promises in the Wind" by Irene Hunt

"No Promises in the Wind follows Josh (15) and Joey (10) Grondowski as they venture from their family in Chicago with their teenage friend Howie during the Great Depression. This realistic, and historical-fiction novel shows the turbulence of the 1930's - the starvation, unemployment, hopping trains. Devastation strikes as early as chapter two, keeping you intrigued."
