I once counted the starts, but gave up at 63. I don't touch wet paint though...maybe I'm just a freak.

Because someone is more apt to lie to you about wet paint than the number of stars in the sky.

Because people can't reach up and touch the stars, nor will they sit down and count them themselves.... but wet paint can be all kinds of fun to smear.

It is easier to touch the paint than it is to check them out about the number of stars!

Hmm....very interesting. I don't actually touch the wet paint to be sure but I forget that they had JUST told me and I rub against it anyways.

I think the reason would be you can verify if its really wet paint and "know for sure" but you can verify how many stars there are.
