I have a Ford Probe 1994. The engine was overheating and I discovered that I had to put 1.3 gallon of radiator coolant. Now, it's normal. But is there something wrong ? I don't know why so much radiator coolant was missing.

Any number of things can cause coolant leakage. Watch for evidence of further coolant loss on the surface under which you park. Coolant loss could be from something as easy to remedy as a bad hose to something far more serious. The most important thing to bear in mind here is that ignoring this problem could unnecessarily lead to other ones. I would get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Maybe there is a small crack somewhere in your engine. Keep monitoring the coolant level and see if it is still going down then you can be sure there is an internal leak. The cylinder head and head gasket is usually where coolant can leak into the cylinders and be pumped out with the exhaust so you can't tell it is leaking because there is no puddle on the ground or your oil doesn't look milky. Have your engine's compression tested in all the cylinders, that can help find if there is a problem.

You must have a leak and managed to loose all your coolant. You best find the leak and repair it before you do some serious damage to the engine.

You may have a leak somewhere in the radiator, or could be the petcock valve not sealing off well, maybe you have to bog of a thermostat which causes it to run hot. good luck solving the problem.
