Seems i cant view pdf files, im using 'open office org' is there a free downloadable application so i can view files in pdf format?

Adobe acrobat reader is cross platform, and industry standard. it's free. Check your computer for it... it's often bundled free with other application packages

the popular software is adobe reader

but i recommend foxit reader, fully compatible and a LOT smaller and opens quicker
