Usually the pain lessens with exercise. Try walking for a little bit. sometimes swimming manges to slow down the blood flow.

I used to have really bad cramps and the doctor put me on B/C to release only certain amounts of hormones ... It does help.

I always try to stick to warm foods with very little salt like soups. I avoid everything that is cold. I also drink teas. As far as the blood I have no problem with that.

Salty foods, sugary foods, meat, and fried foods can make the cramps/bleeding worrse.
This is the time to be as healthy and natural as possible. salads, soups, fruits, veggies, beans, whole wheat, ect...
