Well, first, Canada's population is 32 million roughly and US 300 million. Do the math.

Also, YES IT IS COLD in Winter - like it's suppose to be, however, summers are extremely hot and actually unberable.

Then you have the difference of culture, beliefs and education. U.S. claims to be extremly religious and wants people to live with constant guilt, whic results in self hatred.

Americans always make fun of Canada, but you know what they say, you always pick on the ones you like or on the things you don't have.

For one, Canada is a much cleaner country, less arrogant and tries not play the worlds police. Not that canada is perfect, but compared to U.S., it's pretty close.

No... There is not less crime in Canada because there is less people.

There is less crime per capita - that means based on percentage of population.

Toronto which is 10 times larger than Detroit has 1/10th the murders. Canada has a higher percentage of people who own guns that the US but has a much lower percentage of Gun crime than the US. Less legal suits.

The why is up for grabs but I would guess that Canada has a "quieter and gentler" mindset. There is a bigger focus on obligations rather than rights. Public education, including colledge and university and Public Medical care tend to even out opportunities so the people don't feel left out as much.

Frankly, just friendlier. Heck, the country even started off at a conference rather than a revolution.

Probably because Canada is less of a divided society than USA is.

The most dangerous and crime-ridden places in USA are poor African-American neighborhoods. And Canada has fewer such neighborhoods.

There are neighborhoods in Canada where many poor and unemployed Native North American Indians live. And many of such neighborhoods have high crime rates too. But unemployed Natives make up a much smaller proportion of Canadian population than is the proportion of unemployed African-Americans in USA.

But Canada is not that good in terms of crime when compared to European Union countries. Most if not all European Union countries have lower crime rates than Canada has.

There are 30 times less people in Canada than in the U.S. That's why the crime rate is lower.

Canada does have fewer minorities numerically, yet Canada additionally has one 10th the inhabitants of the US, so as a share of the inhabitants, Canada has extra or less as many blacks. i think of the explanation why Canada has a decrease crime value and a much extra useful high quality of existence familiar, is by technique of its very LIBERAL nature. you recognize issues like a PUBLIC well-being CARE gadget, plenty extra stepped forward social assistance classes, its tendency to be much less discriminatory on themes of orientation and gender and so on, and so on. Of notice is that Canada is far less non secular than the US, and doesnt have a bigoted backward "conservative south" to hold it back. i think of those are the justifications for Canada's continuously extreme score in high quality of existence surveys ( not in basic terms its decrease crime value). additionally being particularly "under" populated capacity an abundance of supplies which doesnt harm the two. good judgment consistently trumps bigotry.

Actually, the startling fact is, when you compare the crime rates on a per-capita basis, Canada actually has a HIGHER crime rate than the U.S. does.

The U.S. does does have a much higher murder rate than Canada, but those make up only a small fraction of all crimes. On the other hand, Canada has higher rates of muggings, assaults, etc.
