My question is, why do popular people think they have the right to pronounce themselves better than anyone else, and why do they treat others like someone from another planet? Why is there so much disrespect towards their peers?

Self confidence. They believe they are the pack leaders, therefor they are. And pack leaders call the shots.

Well they just think they are better then other people and all that stuff. Well just so u know i have been out of school for 5 years now and when i look back to all the people that was the popular kids in school they still live in the same little town not going anywhere doing the same thing their parents did and some even have Kidd's and is not married or has ever been married. I was not popular and i got out of that little town and yes i have 2 kids but I have been married to the man i love for 4 years and the kids a both his. we are doing allot better then the kids that just cared about how popular they were so now they have no room to talk. i know that it don't always work out like this but i do know that they will not always be the popular ones just don't care what they think and do your best so u know that u r going to make it in this world.

Honestly, it just depends on the enviorment. You may be the most popular in your circle of friends, but other places you may not be. It just all depeneds on the situation. And I think your thinking is kind of wrong. People who are assholes to others aren't generally liked. And if it does seem like that, the only reasonable explanation is that .. people will become friends with assholes so that they don't get picked on. If you cant beat 'em join em. So basically, speak up.. have some fun. and you can move up the ranks as well. :)

Because they have the false impression that they are better than we are when the true story is they put their pants on the same way we do and they are our equals not some kind of royalty or something. It is all about respect and it makes me wonder if they don't really respect themselves or if they feel like because they are popular they have to act in a certain way. BS, we are equal, respect others and respect yourself and all the inbetween is just jealously. Take care Heather

"popular" kids r no different from u. they just have the need for a feeling of control. they make themselves a group and it is all exclusive and if ur not in that group they have control over u and take advantage of u! just remember, it doesnt matter if ur popular or not, enjoy life regardless! there are many more important things in life!!

The only reason they are popular is because they are rich. They aren't usually pretty or nice and they have absolutely no self esteem. They compensate by buying things and being stuck up

what makes some one popular? lots of friends right, or having a lot of people like you, well when i was in school most peolpe hated the "popular" kids, except for there couple friends, i was in the middle i got along with every one.

Nothing truly makes them better than anyone. Alot of the behavior you mentioned is possibly because inside they are insecure and also afraid to lose thier "position".

They are just immature half wit people who one day will step into the real world (without their immature half wit friends) and realize that nobody really gives a s**t!
