I would suggest looking at warehouse online shop, they have a great formal range, with black dresses to wow.

www.asos.com is great if you're on a budget. I know it sounds really boring but there are some lovely, good quality and timeless pieces to be found in department stores like debenhams among their own designer ranges. Other than that I've seen some exquisitely girly 50's styles in Oasis ans Zara over the last couple of weeks. Have fun!

Look on E-bay! They have new dresses at a fraction of the price! It helps to know your measurements and then you know the dress will fit you when you get it! Good luck!
