My bro (no lie) was an alcoholic. Only reason he stopped was because he had such a scare and they told him he should have died. He's now off it 2 years. It takes a long time but it's mainly down to them themselves you can support them but they will be the ones that give it up. x

The best thing for you to do is to be there to support your friend. You can let them know that you are worried about him or her. They would have to want to quit drinking alcohol themselves.

First, DO NOT PUSH THE PERSON !!
this IS a hard thing to overcome, I myself just got tired of it,and put it in my mind to stop ..
My spouse went to a 60 day program at a local VA hospital, and it worked !~!~ hasn't touched a drop in 5 years

if your serious YOU cant either put up with it or leave them alone until they get help.if they want help you can help but that doesnt mean buying alcohol it means getting them to treatment
