2003 Corolla...the first couple times that I brake during my drive, my brakes will squeal. After the first couple times, it goes away and the brakes are fine.

Any idea what this could be? The brake pads were replaced about a month ago.

New pads make noise.

Usually if a car sits for any period of time there is "rust" build up (dust, dirt, moisture, etc). The brakes will "squeak" until this is removed by using the brakes. This especially happens if the car has been driven in the rain or are in a high humidity area.

some types of brakes will make squeaky sounds after they've gotten wet (specially if it rained the previous night), but that doesn't mean you have a problem. the squealing usually goes away after you brake a couple of times... its annoying, but you shouldn't worry about it.

Honestly, it could be anything from dirt on your rotors to your brake pads becoming smooth...like glass. I'd take it back in to the shop and have them inspect it.

It might be that they didn't put copper grease on the backs of the pads before installing them back in the calliper.
