i was at softball practice and we were hitting the ball, and my coach told me the next time i hit it to run the bases and they had to get me out. well, i hit it hard and starting running. i made it to third by the time the catcher had caught it. but then she dropped it, and in a game i wouldn't have run, but this was practice so i decided to go for it and ran for home. catcher grabbed the ball, and just as i went to slide, she tripped and we collided and i fell straight back hard with her on top of me (needless to say i was out, but that was the least of my worries at the moment), my butt hit first, then my back and legs. anyhoo, the pain was a lot, but i was tough and dealt with it, it was fine by the time i got home. well, the next morning it hurt like... a lot. it hurt to sit down, bend over, walk. anything. today it's better, but i still can't sit back without pain. my parents are out of town right now, and i'm going to tell them when they get back. what should i do?

Yeah your tail bone. I injured mine by falling down the stairs on my butt, because I slipped on the stairs and fell back and landed on my butt. It hurt like hell. I didn't go to the Doctor either.I believe I healed up in about almost two months and It would hurt when I sat down, when I walked, when I roled over in the bed. I just took motrin and sat in warm sitz baths in the tub with epson salt . It really helps with the soreness.

When I fell I had my baby in my arms and if I had caught myself and tried to grab a hold to the stair case bannister, I would have dropped him.

Anyway he is 3 years old now and I am happy to report that my butt is fine. It was just really painful during the time I was healing. Take it easy and get some rest and the soaks will help. I didn't go to the Doctor but maybe you should. I was 30 years old and I just had a baby 3 weeks from falling on my butt when this happenned if you are younger than me you might need less healing.

There is a bone called the coccyx, also known as the tailbone, located at the base of the spinal column. Sounds like you may have bruised it, which can be extremely painful. I once bruised mine when my horse's saddle, which was not cinched tight enough, started to slide and I fell off of my horse. You can try putting ice on the affected area which may help reduce any swelling and help take out some of the soreness. Definitely tell your parents when they get back into town.

I've had this problem before.

I fell down some stairs and landed on my butt, then I felt horrible the next day.

The swelling heals fairly quickly, and with few problems.

I laid down all day on my stomach reading and watching TV, not even bothering to go to the doctor.

That was less than a year ago, so I know it works pretty well.

:)

Yes you do have a bone in your butt. It's called the tailbone. If you did break it there's nothing you can do besides ice it, sit on a donut and let it heal. I've broken mine before and it ended up being more or so of a waste of money because they just tell you to sit on a donut and wait for it to heal.

That would be your Coccyx (tailbone) and there is nothing that the Dr can do to help heal it, except give you some pain medicine and tell you to take it easy for a few weeks

You may have injured or broken your tail bone. I've personally never done this but a friend of mine has the pain sounds somewhat similar. Of course there is nothing that can be done if you broke it so throw down some advil and relax.

There is a bone called the coccyx or the tail bone. You might need Xray to find out. I don't know what the treatment is for that though.
