We were in English today and our teacher was telling us what our grades were so far. English is really important to me as I want to be a journalist and I hope to study it at university. Anyways, I got an A & B, she got two A's. When our teacher said B to me you should have seen her face, as if she was thinking..MUAHAHAHA I beat you!! She kept going on and on and on... telling everyone. I. don't. care!! She is always competing with me in everything! You should see her face whenever I do something good. It's like a pig's backside. She is driving me mad! She is better than me I admit it!! Grr!! Help!! Thanks :)

tell her that just because she got 2xA does not mean she's the brains of Britain.....just tell her to change the record coz it's getting stale now and think of something original to say...if not...stfu....then concentrate on your grades....the reason why she competes is because she has low esteem issues and is scared of being outdone by you and others...she's immature and needs to grow up and maybe one day her bubble will burst then she can come down to earth with an ungodly BUMP.......just laugh it off, she's acting like a pathetic kid...she's so jealous of you and thats why her sour face hits the floor every time you do well....get a new friend...also good luck with your grades....i hope you meet your goal....look back in 10 years time and see what she's doing then, if she's doing nothing then publish it when you become a journalist

I think this is the opposite of being big-headed - she obviousl see's you as a 'yardstick' - to beat you at something she feels she has done really well - that is a compliment.

Yes she is being maybe just a touch competitive with it but some people need a bit of competition to motivate themselves - you have you career dream to motivate you.

Try to rise above it, if she wants to compete with you then fine if that is what she needs you just concentrate on getting the grades you need to achieve your dream. But son't forget that the world of journalism is very competitiv too - to get jobs, good stories, the scoops. Maybe you can use her as a good training ground? Maybe someday you be thanking her in your Pulitzer speech as the person who taught you to fight for the good stuff?

She's not better than you at all, no-one is better than anyone. It sounds like to me, she maybe jealous of you, why else would she be trying to compete with you? I think it's brilliant you got an A & B, so well done. So what if she got 2 A's, that dos'nt mean she's better than you. If i were you, i would not let her see that her petty big-headed remarks get to you, cos that would make her day. Congratulate her on her 2 A's & make out that your happy for her, believe me, that'll really wind her up cos it'll seem like it dos'nt bother you & all she wants to do is wind you up, so don't fall for it. Anyway, she dos'nt seem like much of friend to me, you're much better off without.

First of all nobody is better than anyone else period. We are all equal, and we are all human. They may have better studying skills or better at certain subjects than we are but so what, it doesn't make they different or better than us. Just tell them that you did your best and you are satisfied with it. Competition is all about insecurity. Its not necessary to run people down or make them think we are better than they are because we are all human and all make mistakes and we all put our pants on the same way in the morning. Ignor her, life is too special to worry about the silly things. Take care Heather

sound like she is just friends with u because she need to feel better then u. stop hanging around with her u r better then that and some time it is not the grades that count it is the person who made them and how u work Ur but off to get them. don't think about what she is doing better then u just know that one day she will not have people who will want to compete with her and she will lose

i have a friend exactly the same only i am 37, i am pig sick of her aswell and am finishing my friendship with herf as i realise that she is not a true friend as she is never happy for me if i achieve something and she is the same with her children, they have to be better yhan everyone else at everything. I dont want to have to compete with my friends, this is not what friendship is about, you made my mind up for me about my friend just by reading your question, you will meet new friends at uni and she really is not worth it, jealousy is a bitter emotion and she will end up very lonely, never put yourself down so what if she got one more "A" than you, at least you have feelings and sense, get rid shes not worth it

Friends can be idiots at times! I suggest that you need to LOOK like you don't care. Just look at her next with pity on your face and I think eventually she will get bored of being pathetic. Maybe she is jealous of something else about you and needs to try and compensate. Good luck!

Hope that helps!

She sounds competitive. Its most likely what she thrives off of to get good grades... you could do the same... or you could just ignore her.

Either way, an A & B are great grades!

She's not better than you in the slightest, the complete opposite i'd say. just a spoilt selfish little mare that has nothing better to do than make someone else feel and look really small. Give her what she gives you, she'll hate it!
