There's a movie called 'Chasing Liberty'. Some people claim it's a rip-off of 'Roman Holiday' but I consider it to be a decent film. Nowhere near Hepburn-greatness but good enough. Anyway, there's this one part where she's about to jump off a bride (bungee jump) and she's shaking and the guy she's jumping with asks her:

"If you're scared, what's the point of doing it?"

She replies with:

"It's the things you're scared of that are the most worthwhile."

The reason why I wasted your time with that is because I fully agree. That's where I came up with my present mentality: the things I'm scared of are worth it.

Nothing great ever comes easy.

If Bell had known it would have taken thousands of tries to make the lightbulb, would he have gone through all the trouble?

Perhaps so but merely because he knows that after all that hard work, he would have something wonderful.

That's the point of life. To never really be certain so there's always that element of fear but that's the point. The fear is supposed to drive you, to conquer it. So many people back off when they feel fear but they shouldn't.

The fear should be replaced with passion.

I'm scared to death of finishing university because I am not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of my life. But the answer to all my questions lie in the simple act of just trying and then dealing with the consequences/circumstances.

To give up just because you're scared gives a cowardly impression.

Those that accomplish great things or fall in love or contribute to society don't let the fear conquer them.
