You really shouldn't. What is walking not enough for? I don't really understand. You shouldn't be trying to lose weight or anything like that. Just in case that's what you're doing.......

It depends on you. Talk with your OB about your fitness plans and goals for your pregnancy. Every person is different and can do different things. If you were active before pregnancy and have continued to be active, then you sould be able to jog/run at a slow pace. The main thing is to be comfortable and not let your heart rate exceed 140 beats per minute. I am 25 weeks and continue to jog 2-3 miles, 3x a week but I was doing this before pregnancy. Starting a fitness plan during pregnancy is okay but you need to have the right tools and information for YOU. Every pregnant woman should try to get some form of exercise and eat a sound diet. Your OB can provide you with good information reguarding your limitations and may also be able to help you find other mom to be's to become active with.

my best friend ran the entire time she was PG and when her son was born the doctors said it was the most healthiest baby and mother they'd ever seen and the doctors never her told her to stop running. they actually encouraged it. and when she was 1 week late after due date, she went for a walk and she still didn't go into labor so she decided to go for a quick run and 2 blocks in, BOOM...labor. I know it's true because I was there for her the whole time during her pregnancy and I was in the delivery room. we think that all of the running she did sparked her son to be really into running and now he does track and cross country just like her and they do it and train together. congrats on your pregnancy, best wishes and good luck.

I suppose you could. I ran a sprint the other day to catch up with my daughter and am 27 1/2 weeks pregnant. but it was hard. the baby bouces and hits my lungs and I get out of breathe really easy. Can't imagine my baby liked too much either. But I don't think it would hurt anything

First off, I ENVY you for having the energy to peel yourself off the bed or couch! I am sooo tired all the flipping time I WISH I could THINK about jogging! LOL
That being said, when I was preg with my first child, I did aerobics and light jogging until I was about 32 weeks. Just take it easy, don't strain yourself (thik-- when your heartrate increases, so does your baby's).
Have fun!

I would definitely ask my physician about that one. I did however have a friend who was 26 weeks pregnant and ran a marathon. Her hubby helped tape her belly up tight so she wouldn't bounce all over the place.

But like I said...ask your dr.

I think you should consult your doctor about it and any other exercises you are doing or plan on doing while pregnant. Some exercises are safer during pregnancy than others.
