I've eaten both through my last pregnancy and with this pregnancy. Cottage cheese is fine and healthy for you. Hummus has a lot of protein in it, so that is good. Store bought hummus tends to be a little on the salty side, so that is a minus. But I still eat it if I don't have time to make my own. Best of luck.

Humus is actually chickpeas, and yes, you can eat those. They are a good source of iron, and my doctor recommended then when we found out I was very anemic. Cottage cheese is fine. Any cheese is fine as long as it has been pasteurized. I actually started craving humus during my 20 something weeks and ate it to my heart's content! Good luck!

I didn't think cottage cheese was considered a soft cheese. I thought the soft cheeses were like Brie.

Just go ahead and eat those foods they should be just fine.

Its not that cheese is soft, its that its un-pasteurized. Cottage cheese is, since hummus is soybeans, no sure it needs to be.
