My old comupter is Windows xp sp2. How do I send like one or two pictures onto my new computer since they are in a network.
I have Vista home prem,doesnt have a floppy disk slot, plus I want a couple things I have my computers on a network now cause my new computer has net using the roooter to get my dsl box connection

I DONT want to email files cause I use my computers for graphics and videos so emailing them would be stuipd and all. So on my new computer I could just run my old computer files and copy and paste them on the new one?

to share a folder:
right click on the desired folder
properties
sharing
enable network sharing and security

to see ur sharing folder and files, go to the other computer
start menu
click on run
type \\oldcomputername\sharingfolder
oldcomputername= the name of ur old computer
sharingfolder= name of the folder u shared on ur old computer

Make sure that both of your computers are a member of the same workgroup (right click My Computer, properties, Computer Name tab).

On the computer with the pictures you want to share, right click the folder containing the pictures and select properties, click the sharing tab, change to 'share this folder' or whatever, click ok.

You can then access the shared folder in one of two ways. One, open an explorer window such as My Computer and type '\\' in the address bar where is the name of the computer with the shared folder. Two, go into My Network Places, entire network, microsoft windows network, .

I dont quite understand the Question but....cable modem plugs into router, computers plug into router, thats a network, windows has a network wizard you can follow to set up home network, once set up just look in network places for the other computer icon, or if both computers have different names just go to start, run, type \\name of computer\ and hit enter, that should look for the other computer..
