To me a part time job is 20 hours or less not 34. I realize a lot of employers keeps hours below 35 so they don't have to offer you benefits.

I have worked part-time for two different companies and they both had policies of no more than 32 hours per week. I actually like working part-time and find I can make more money per hour than those who work full time (I am on my spouses benefits) because I off the back say I don't need benefits.... Good pay and home by 3pm?!?!?

VIVA LA PART-TIME!!!

It relies upon on the corporation. In some businesses in case you artwork a minimum of 32 hours a week you're seen complete-time. it is an hourly or a salaried place. This status oftentimes contains some form of benefit equipment (scientific wellbeing insurance, existence insurance, trip time, ill days etc.). a factor-time place is often hourly paid place and oftentimes would not incorporate any form of reward. Your hours variety on the demands of the corporation and a few time table can variety weekly. One week you could artwork 2 8 hour days and the subsequent you could artwork 5 days 3-4 hours an afternoon. Retail and eating place workers tend to be section-time by way of character of the corporation and the flux of call for. desire this answerer's your question!

An employer can work you up to 38 hrs a week and still consider you part time employee. I know that is what I did. They can not give you more then that as a part time employee and if they do they have to pay you overtime for anything over then 38 hrs. Trust me done it several times.
