If a homosexual were allowed to be priest or pastor in a church
and admitted he is a ex-homosexual, would'nt that then be
allowable priest or pastor for now he is no longer a homosexual?

That doesn't make sense.

He is either gay or not. There's not "ex-homosexual." Also, why would a conversative church hire ANYONE who has been anywhere close to homosexuality?

PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE ... The church is a farce. A bunch of lost sheep and hypocrites trying to find themselves. Don't believe the hype. After we die, we are all placed in the ground where the bugs eat up our remains. Our bones eventually disintegrate but by that time, they will probably be building a new condo on them anyway.

Once we are gone, we are only a memory to those who knew us - but eventually all those we know will die too - so what's the big worry ?

As for gays being priests, at least if that happens then we will KNOW the world's belief that most pastors and priests are already gay is warranted - so why not just support it.

think about it

There is no such thing as an ex-LGBT person. One is born LGBT or straight, which is not a "choice," and this cannot change over time.

Please don't confuse sexual behavior with sexual orientation. There are people who claim to have been "converted" from being LGBT, when all that has happened is that they have been harassed and browbeated into not having sex at all, or forced into having sex with the other gender. Such cruelty does not change their natural, God-given, inborn sexual orientation one IOTA.

LGBT people, both men and women, make wonderful clergy and counselors. There should be no bars for such people who hear a calling from God to pursue this profession.

Sorry, I've had a drink, read your question, couldn't work out what you're on about - you seem to have had experience with ex-homosexuals, just get over it and move on, eh.

you'd think so. i mean, he's confessed to his "sins" (lol) and he is still human after-all. good question though. there would be a big hoo-haa from the public because of the recent priest's molestations. a lot of people still relate gay with deviant acts.

Yes, even in the Bible we find where people who were once homosexual were now followers of Christ. In First Corinthians 6 they are told that now they have been washed, they have been sanctified, they have been justified by their faith in Christ.

even if he is still homosexual, they can still be a pastor or priest, that has nothing to do with believing in god.
I'm a lesbian for 5yrs and i believe in god!!!

I think that someone's sexual orientation shouldn't get in the way of their call to lead the flock. God doesn't care, why should humans?
