Whew...here we go again.

1. As you can tell from some (not all) of the previous responses, any question about the Kennedy assassination brings out more nuts than a Fischer family reunion. All of the poorly-read and illogically-minded have their own pet theory.
2. However. Pet theories aside, serious scholarship, rational thought, and logical elimination leaves only ONE person left standing--Lee Harvey Oswald. As the previous nuts who talked about the Illumaniti and the Trilateral Commission or the Skulls or the Masons, or any other secret group are reluctant to admit, they don't have ANY hard evidence to support ANY of their ridiculous theories. They NEVER provide a name, they NEVER put the gun in anyone's hand, THEY never dare implicate anyone specifically. They think in abstract and argue in circles.
3. The evidence against Oswald is overwhelming. OVERWHELMING!!! For instance:

-The ONLY rifle found belonged to Lee Harvey Oswald--no one else.
-The ONLY bullets recovered were balistically matched to Oswald's rifle to the exclusion of ALL other rifles on the planet
-Oswald's prints were on the barrel of the rifle
-Oswald was witnessed carrying a mysterious long package into work with him but NOT seen leaving with the same package, yet later that day HIS RIFLE was found in the building
-Oswald was the ONLY employee of the Texas School Book Depository to leave the building immediately after the assassination (within two minutes!)
-Oswald was witnessed by three witnesses firing the rifle from the SE cornor windoe of the TSBD at the time of the assassination
-Oswald's wife had three photographs of Oswald HOLDING the rifle, Marxist literature, and wearing a pistol, in photos that SHE took herself.
-Oswald later that afternoon shot and killed Dallas patrolman J.D. Tippit while he was fleeing the assassination scene.
-Oswald resisted arrest in the Texas Theater when asked to stand up and answer a few questions

(tell me when you want me to stop)

-Oswald did not have an alibi at the time of the assassination
-Oswald's palm prints were found on the boxes surrounding the sniper's "nest" built to conceal a gunman from the inside of the building so that his coworkers wouldn't see him prior to the assassination

As for the motive?

It doesn't matter one bit. In a criminal proceeding motive is irrelevant. The attorney for the state doesn't have to prove what the motive was. Why? We simply cannot always figure out motive. People who murder are nearly always psychologically unstable and psychologically unstable people do not always have rational motives. Remember that John Hinkley shot President Reagan in March of 1981 so that Jodie Foster would fall in love with him. How's THAT for a logical motive? Mark David Chapman shot and killed John Lennon because he saw himself as Holden Cauldfield from "The Catcher in the Rye" and he felt Lennon was a sell-out and a phoney. Therefore he wanted to prevent a new, younger generation from falling for Lennon's balony so, as a catcher in the rye, who saves children playing tag from falling off the edge of a cliff, so Mark Chapman attempted to "save" the up and coming generation from the hypocrasy of John Lennon. Motive?

As previously mentioned, Gerald Posner's tome, "Case Closed" does the best job of bringing Oswald back into the focal point of the assassination but keep in mind that Oswald's motive(s) will never be fully understood because Jack Ruby shot and killed him Sunday morning November 24, 1963, saving Dallas the cost of a trial and prevent Jackie Kennedy from having to return to Dallas to testify and endure a lengthy murder trial.

And there you have it.

The jury's still out on this. The man convicted of the crime was Lee Harvey Oswald. However, many facts seem to suggest something else may have happened. There is a lot of speculation about this among the experts. I suspect he was murdered because of money i.e. he wanted to end the war in Vietnam, which would have cost some companies millions. Then again, maybe someone was really passionate about opposing communism, and believed he was tacitly encouraging communism by pulling out of Vietnam. Maybe we will never know the truth just as we still don't know for certain the identity of Jack the Ripper.

**YAWN**

He was killed by Colonel Mustard with the candlestick in the library.

I'm sure JFK personally killed Marilyn Monroe and probably came back from the dead to finish off Elvis as well.

Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK - we don't know why, probably because he was a nutter (see also Mark Chapman's killing of John Lennon). Did you know that Oswald had previously tried to assassinate General Walker? There was no apparent motive for this either.

I shall go back to sleep again, until somebody else asks exactly the same question again.

Lee Harvey Oswald.

Why? That's complicated. Read "Case Closed" for a detailed and non-speculative analysis of the assisination and history of Oswald. He was a very troubled man.

Conspiracy theories make for interesting fiction, but none really survive critical thinking.

There was no war going on when Kennedy died.

He was assasinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, no one really knows why. That's the tradgedy that surrounds the effect of Jack Ruby killing Mr. Oswald before he could go to trial.

could have been a number of reasons. All presidents have their enemies. The evidence of it being Oswald alone is fairly strong. I'm not sure if we'll ever truly know. The theory of it being over Vietnam is pretty lame. There's no suggestion he was planning on ending it, in fact he help screw it up.

Lee Harvey Oswald.

As for the reason why JFK was killed, we'll never know. Oswald was shot before he was arraigned and died from his wounds.

The first answer is on the right track. Review material on the NWO, Illuminati, etc.--readily available via google. You could start by googling "bush crime family"--very "amusing".

In short, the world is "owned" by psychopaths, and if you're a big enough annoyance you will "disappear". Got it?
