has to be Apple. the design is a reference and homage to Alan Turing, a mathematical genius who helped design the first computer and worked on the codebreaking machines used in world war two.
He killed himself by injecting an apple with cyanide then eating part of the apple. his body was found with the half eaten apple next to the bed.
This is where the Apple logo comes from.

Any logo that makes you instantly recognise the company is a great logo and is one doing its job properly.
I dont particulalry like the more famous logos such as, macdonalds, nike, visa, but it always impressed me that something so small & simplistic in detail can represent a company in such a big way without the use of text!
my favourite logo is Apple

The Nike one is the most recognizable, so I guess it is more successful than most.
