I am thoroughly sold on my little HP Deskjet 5440. I paid a little over $70 for it at an Office Depot near my home.
I'm in the U.S. though, and can buy ink cartridges at Wal-Mart cheaper than I can buy them online. If you are not in the U.S., I don't know where to tell you to buy cartridges. As far as ease of installation, operation, etc., I love this printer. Best one I've had in years.

HP really wrote the book on printers, and have several in this price range. Check first on cost of ink cartridges before you buy anything, though!

go to brother and get a hL5140 it is cheep and the matnence dose not require much. Try to look them up on tiger dirrect.com and you will get cheep prices for the best printers and it fits your budget. Laser printers use the least amout of ink and can go longer with tonner. you will save over 70% on tonner and power so that is 140% better then a diskjet.
Good Luck

Look up the cost of ink cartridges FIRST. Then, Google / Yahoo search for printer reviews.

Decide on the printer you want, then, Google / Yahoo search for best prices. Then, watch for local sales.
