I have used AVG Anti Virus, Zone Alarm Firewall, Spy-bot Search and Destroy and Ad Aware both spyware killers for years. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans etc. AVG does not slow the system down as much as some other products and Zone Alarm allows a lot of personal configuration unlike the Windows Firewall. They can all be downloaded from the following link. http://www.computeractive.co.uk/ On the home page select downloads and then the appropriate category. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You will have to remove Norton using add remove programmes before running AVG. Hope this helps.

The AVG is a solid antivirus whether in case you prefer to eliminate a virulent disease that gets with the aid of then you definately might desire to pay for a subscription. it would be extra undemanding to resume Norton as that is going to be very puzzling to completely eliminate it out of your computing device or computing device. a million situation is..."while uninstalling maximum variations of AVG in abode windows XP/Vista and attempting to place in different antivirus courses which includes Kaspersky Anti-Virus or Norton AntiVirus; they gained't set up showing an incompatible application put in errors whether AVG has been uninstalled making use of the administration panel. this occurs because of the fact AVG has made registry entries on an identical time as installation and this has not been bumped off even after uninstall."

I see the I love AVG boys are out again, Don't download AVG, Norton is far better than AVG, if your looking for a better program than Norton, then download Kaspersky or Nod32, if your short of cash & you want the best free AV program then download the free AOL one (which is Kaspersky watered down)

And if you are a customer with Virgin Media you get the extra software all for FREE the full package, which includes the following,
Anti-Virus,,Fire Wall,, Pop-up-Blocker,, Privacy Manager,,

I have been using this software package now for around two months and in that time I have had not one problem with it,

You can run on AVG free and Kerico and it will provide better security for your computer. The other problem with Norton is that it slows your computer down too much. Both of these are available as free downloads ... just put them into Google and they should come up!

I personally use Norton as I have never had any problems with it. I wouldn't trust to use AVG or any other free anti-virus software. As they say, you get what you pay for.
