I like how people sometimes get "chummy" here. I hate to say this, but I don't have really good social skills and dealing with people in person often makes me nervous as hell, so I'm glad to have human contact through this forum.

I enjoy the mix of personalities in the politics section. Some are knowledgeable, some might not be particularly knowledgeable but have intelligent answers, others have wisdom and worldliness, others show compassion, many are funny. I find this section very interesting. Some people I like more than others. I don't really hate anyone. Even though, sometimes they REALLY piss me off !
Choosing Best Answer for my questions is an obligation I take seriously. It's hard sometimes. Yes, I wish I could sometimes split the points. We should have 10 points, and split them up as we see fit. That would make things even more interesting.

WHEW! Just kidding..um, for the most part I think this site is rife with crap, mostly from those too young or too stupid to add to the debate. The plus side is SOMEof the good stuff has to rub off on them, right? I only care in so much as people use their brains and facts (instead of canned responses from their favorite celebrity) to cast their votes. Sometimes stirring the pot makes people do this. There is a fine line between being insulting, and being challenging. The difference is the audience. if a member of the audience cannot accept criticism, or doesn't have an open mind, this will generally be taken as 'insulting'. I attribute many of my thumbs down to this. But if someone is just looking for an ANSWER (this is Yahoo ANSWERS) then I can appreciate that, no matter what party. I appreciate that, for the most part, new users who ask questions that seem to be a bit 'juvenile' (for lack of a better word) are generally treated with kid gloves, by users on both sides...you know, kids trying to get some homework help, etc...I have also realized that this may be the only place in the world that I go to that doesn't have an age restriction...in other words, me not having children, and liking to do adult things (also, being done with school for now) has prevented me from seeing the young people's views (good or bad behavior) on what is important to them. i appreciate that. And I have actuially a spot in my heart for some on this board...I consider some to be my friends, having never known them in person. You are one. I give you best answer from time to time, but I think it is in line with your percentage...you just answer that many questions with best answer! Point gaming is stupid. And so is thinking that insulting peeople is 'fun'. Now, am I thinking too much? lol

I think that it is a good forum, most posters are sincere in their beliefs and convey them very well here, the only drawback I see is both sides have their trolls and Yahoo customer service don't seem able to do anything about it, the same people come back to disrupt and spew hate and when they are finally removed then they just make another id only to do it again. Put both things on a just scale I say the good out weighs the bad, and it is a valuable place to spend your free time.

Wow! You think too much. I give best answer to the answer I like. The whole point thing went away as soon as I found out you got nothing for them. My friends are my friends and we don't always agree but most are pretty impressive in some way or another.

I'm just here looking for some decent questions to answer, asking questions only gets answers that generally have nothing to do with the question. As for the other people, too many cliques, and i hope most here are not serious with their posts. I would hate to think America has became so full of hate for Americans.

I feel like there is a group of posters here with an agenda to smear Barak Obama. They attack the articles, they attack pro Obama posters with personal smears and lies. The discourse in Yahoo Comments is far from Civil.

I have received some nice emails from backwater nutters that think Bush's big business tax cuts go in their pockets too. We are all still people when you get down to it. Well most of us, there are a few that went off of either deep end.

I like the wide mix of people and ideas.
Sure is weird! And fun.
There really is an anonymous soap opera going on here among the regulars, so its natural to think of it in the context of a community.
